The study was carried out on 668 adults between April 26 and June 8 year that is last. The participants were grouped as yoga practitioners, other religious providers and non-practitioners.

Yoga practitioners had "lower stress, anxiety as well as depression" throughout the lockdown imposed due to the Covid 19 outbreak last year as compared to non-practitioners, an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi study has found.

The study, titled' Yoga a great approach for self-management of stress related troubles and health during Covid-19 lockdown: A cross sectional study', has been printed in the journal' Plos One'. It was performed by a team of experts from the National Resource Centre for Value Education in Engineering (NRCVEE) at IIT D.

The study was carried out on 668 adults between April 26 and June eight year which is last. The participants were grouped as yoga practitioners, additional spiritual providers & non-practitioners. Yoga providers have been broken down into the sub-categories of long-term, mid-term and beginners.

"Long-term practitioners reported higher private control as well as lower illness concern in contracting Covid 19 than the mid-term or perhaps beginner groups. Mid-Term and long-term practitioners also noted perceiving lower emotional result of Covid-19 and lower risk in contracting Covid-19 as opposed to the beginners," IIT D said in a statement.

The study found that long-term practitioners had "highest peace of mind, lowest depression & anxiety, with no sizable distinction in the mid term as well as the novice user group".
